In 1997, 13 Charlburians put on a beer festival to raise money for the local primary school. Back then they sold 1,000 pints in a venue limited to 180 visitors. In 2024, two an a half decades later, we celebrated our 26th festival. We welcomed over 2,000 people through our gates. We served over 6,000 pints of ale, craft beer, and cider (that's one every 5 seconds!).
Back in 1985, The Earl Bathurst, who's ancestral seat is in Cirencester Park, had a dream of staging an event primarily for people in the countryside, or with an interest in farming, that was family-friendly, educational, and packed with entertainment. In 1989, tat dream was realised, and after 8,000 people passed through the gates of that first show, the concept of 'Where Town Meets Country' was born.h
